Terms of Service

Last updated: October 6, 2026

Please read these Terms before using freedomtobelong.org and related tools (the “Service”) operated by Freedom to Belong, Inc.

By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you disagree, do not use the Service.

Educational nonprofit — not a law firm. No attorney-client relationship is created by this website, the student portal, classes, simulator, or forms. Results are never guaranteed. For legal advice, consult a licensed attorney under a separate engagement.

Not legal advice — not the government

Freedom to Belong, Inc. is an educational 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We are not a law firm and do not give legal advice. Only a licensed attorney or a representative accredited by the U.S. Department of Justice can give you immigration legal advice. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by USCIS, the U.S. Department of State or any government agency. Official USCIS forms are free at uscis.gov.

Communications and consent

When you send a form you agree that we may contact you about your request by email or phone. Text messages and WhatsApp are optional and only sent if you ticked that box. You can stop at any time: reply STOP, click Unsubscribe, or use freedomtobelong.org/pages/unsubscribe. See our Privacy Policy.

Sign in with Google

If you choose “Sign in with Google”, Google’s own terms also apply. We only receive your name, email address and Google account ID, and we use them to sign you in.

Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use the site. If something is hard to use, call (941) 286-0960 or email help@freedomtobelong.org and we will help you another way.

Mission use

The Service provides free or low-barrier education, community tools, and responsible information about immigration pathways. You agree to use it lawfully and respectfully.

Accounts

If you create a portal account, you must provide accurate information and keep your password confidential. Notify us of unauthorized use. We may suspend accounts that abuse the Service or other users.

Donations & membership

Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law (EIN 33-3807359). Membership tiers that include program benefits may have different tax treatment — keep your receipt. Payment processors (e.g. Zeffy) have their own terms.

Volunteers & pro bono

We look for volunteers to help all cases, including pro bono community support. Volunteering does not create employment. Separate agreements may apply.

Intellectual property

Site content, branding, and tools remain the property of Freedom to Belong and its licensors. You may not copy commercial training materials for sale without permission.

Third-party links

Links to government sites (USCIS, travel.state.gov, dvprogram.state.gov), Zeffy, Zoom, or other services are for convenience. We do not control third-party content or practices.

DV Lottery & government sites

Official DV entry is free only at dvprogram.state.gov when open. We are not affiliated with the U.S. government and never charge to “guarantee” results.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Freedom to Belong is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Changes

We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
